On the Road RV Exercising for Adults

Reines RV is your premier recreational vehicle destination since 1946. When you’re looking for new or used motorhomes, trailers, and fifth wheels, Reines can take your dream and turn it into a traveling reality.
Whichever option you choose for traveling, you’ll spend plenty of time sitting and snacking. Eating properly and adding an exercise routine to the travel itinerary will help keep you fit while enjoying an on-the-road adventure.
Walking
Take walks around the park campgrounds, along nature trails, or in town when visiting local attractions. This activity burns calories and provides a good workout for the heart and muscles.
Indoor Exercises
On days when the weather isn’t cooperating, several indoor exercises are possible. Doing simple routines such as stretches, toe touches, sit-ups, leg lunges, windmills, and running in place are viable options.
Stretches
Muscles can easily tighten up on a long road trip. To alleviate the problem, consider one these exercises.
  • Sit and lower your head down to your knees letting hands hang loose to the floor. Hold the position for a count of 10. Do this throughout the day to stretch the lower back.
  • While seated, place hands behind one knee and pull the knee towards the chest. Hold for at least 30 seconds. Release and repeat steps for the other leg.
  • Place hands on a chair back or table. Lift your foot behind you grasping the ankle and pulling upwards, gently. Hold the position for 30 seconds. Release and repeat.
  • Standing at the sink or other stable surface with feet slightly apart, rise up onto the balls of your feet. Do this 10-15 times. On the last repetition, hold the position for 10-15 seconds. Finish the exercise by placing one foot forward. With toes pointed upward, flex the foot and hold for 30 seconds. Switch legs and repeat.
  • Holding a small weight in each hand raise arms overhead then slowly bend elbows lowering the weights behind you. Raise arms back to the overhead position. Repeat triceps curls several times.
Bring your ride to Reines RV for a complete service check-up, parts, and accessories or to repair collision damage. You’ll travel stress free knowing you and your RV will be fit as a fiddle on your next excursion.
